Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created by The Broke and Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Since I am VERY new to the book blogging community, I was introduced to this meme by Zezee with Books, and I will now follow her lead and joining in on the meme.
This week’s topic is:
Spring Cleaning Freebie, where we clean up our TBR-list, either by reading them or by deciding that we are no longer interested in reading them…ever. I did spend a bit of time, trying to figure out how I’d like to go about this. I’d LOVE to shorten my list a bit – especially since joining this wonderful blogging community, I seem to be adding more and more books to my TBR.
I have decided to remove 5 books from my list, simply because I am no longer interested; not interested in committing to a new series; or simply because I can’t remember ever adding it to my TBR. Now, you may think “but, Avi, those are only 5 books. The meme is called Top Ten Tuesday!” And yes, you’re right! There is a simple reason for this, and that is, I also want to clean up my TBR by reading 5 books this spring. So, 5 books will be dumped, and 5 will be read – which leads to 10 books removed from my TBR! Huzzah for math! However, I would like to say that, if I start reading one of the books I am aiming to finish and I do not enjoy it, I will dump it and move on.
5 Books I’d like to toss from my tbr
Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice – the reason why I am removing this book is that I used to watch both the movie based on this book and the movie Queen of the Damned. This is a remnant from my emo/goth-y days, and I’ll just rather remember the movies with joy. I also don’t feel like I need to read it anymore.
Make Me No Grave by Hayley Stone. This is a book I got given for free, and I genuinely thought it sounded interesting. I’ve tried to start it several times. More than three times and I can never get past the beginning, and now it’s time to throw in the towel.
Poseidon’s Children by Michael West. I do not remember adding this book to my list.
The Wonder by Emma Donoghue. This is another book I don’t remember I’ve ever added to my list.
A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay – I did try to read this book as well, but no, I couldn’t get past the beginning here either.
5 books I aim to read this spring…or dump while trying
All Systems Red by Martha Wells is a book I’ve been wanting to read for a long time, and I do believe that now is the time for me to try it out.
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. As a fan of the movie, I am both nervous and excited. Will it live up to the expectations I have, from watching the movie or will it flop?
Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix. Horror and a knock-off Ikea-store sounds like a lot of fun to me.
John Dies at the End by David Wong is another book, I’ve had on my TBR for a very long time, and I want to read it.
The Electric Kingdom by David Arnold is a book recommended by Jaysen Headley – also known as Ezeekat. I’ve been following his book club this, and so far, they’ve all been good. This is the book of March.
I am SO looking forward to clearing a bit out in my TBR, however, I do fear I might add more books than I can keep up with. I’ll do my best to catch up!
Have you read any of these books, and do you agree/disagree with my choices?
Good luck!

I read A Head Full of Ghosts last year and it is definitely a weird one, haha. The Electric Kingdom is one I’ve been wanting to check out as well. I hope you enjoy your five to read! 🙂

I definitely couldn’t get my head around A Head Full of Ghosts xD
However, I am already having some trouble with Horrorstör. I love the idea, but so far, the characters are not at all likeable.
Hope you enjoy The Electric Kingdom when you get to it 🙂

Welcome to TTT! It’s a super fun weekly event, but beware – it will cause you to add TONS of new books to your TBR list.
I haven’t read any of these, but THE ELECTRIC KINGDOM looks intriguing. I love that cover!
Happy TTT!

Oh no. I just added it to my dnf. Currently working on a post about it. It’s mainly due to the characters.
May I ask what makes you think it’s awesome? 🙂
