TTT: Top Ten Books I’ll Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created by The Broke and Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt has been submitted by Beauty & Her Books and is Books I’d Gladly Throw Into the Ocean. I don’t think I’ve read a book that I’d gladly yeet into the ocean or anywhere else. If I don’t like a book I’ll DNF it, but I am sure someone will get some joy out of it. Sometimes I might need to rant about it – after I’ve gotten that sour taste out of my mouth I’ll happily forget about the book. Instead of making a top ten about books I’ll yeet, I’ll make a top ten about books I’ll never read. However, I do retain the right to yeet a book if I find it necessary to do so.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
I’m not the target audience for this, and I am completely fine with that.

Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James
What can I say? It’s fan fiction for Twilight where the names have been changed.

The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson
As a sceptic I’m not the biggest fan of especially the claims of the Lutz family. The books is based on the Lutz’s experiences – on top of that, the author, Jay Anson, added and adapted some of the family’s original claims. I feel like I know enough about this story, so I would not be able to enjoy this book.

Battlefield Earth: A Sage of the Year 3000 by L. Ron Hubbard
I like sci-fi, but I won’t be able to enjoy them if they’re written by leaders of cults.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting by Arlene Eisenberg et.al.
I will never be expecting, so I don’t have a use for this book.

Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health by L. Ron Hubbard
I don’t trust a cult to tell me how to manage my mental health. YEET!

The boy in the striped pyjamas by John Boyne
I saw the movie. It broke me and I cannot go through that again.

Trump: How to get rich by Donald J. Trump
You might have noticed that I am not a big fan of cults? Yeah, I’ll stay away from any book written by Trump. YEET!

Cujo by Stephen King
I enjoy King’s work and I tried to get into this book…I could not handle the beginning. It broke my heart, knowing where the story was heading. I wasn’t strong enough.

Coming out straight: Understanding same-sex attraction by Richard Cohen, M.A.
Just adding this to my list makes my stomach churn. I came across this book a few weeks ago when I was looking up funny titles, and this showed up. It makes me so uncomfortable and it saddens me that there are people who believe they need this. YEET!

Especially that last one!

A little palate cleanser to get rid of them ugly tastes some of these books might leave you with.
Take care ❤
